The story - from the beginning.

1980

Foundation

Takeover of the Max Kuhnwaldt bus company from Winsen-Luhdorf by OHE and foundation of Verkehrsbetrieb Osthannover GmbH. At the same time, the decline in railway traffic led to the closure of routes at OHE, which was to be compensated for by the development of bus services. Line licences for bus services were applied for and the necessary bus purchases were made for the operations in Lüneburg and Soltau.

1980

1985

Relocation of operations management from the headquarters of the former Kuhnwaldt company to the existing OHE depot in Winsen; existing OHE premises and depots were also used by the bus companies in Lüneburg and Soltau. Administrative work for VOG (payroll, financial accounting, insurance) was handled by OHE in Celle.

1985

2007

Osthannoversche Eisenbahn AG becomes a company of the Arriva Group (in Germany “Arriva Deutschland GmbH”, founded in 2003). In the course of the sale of OHE AG to Arriva-Bachstein GmbH (today: NETINERA-Bachstein GmbH), the responsibilities also changed. Today, the management is based in Nienburger Straße in Celle (administration building of CeBus GmbH & Co. KG and Verkehrsbetriebe Bachstein GmbH), while the operations management is based in Soltau.

2007

2011

Arriva Deutschland GmbH is acquired by a consortium led by the Italian state railway Ferrovie dello Stato Italiane and renamed NETINERA Deutschland GmbH.

2011

2014

The bus companies in which OHE holds an interest establish a bus division within OHE. VOG - as a 100 per cent subsidiary of OHE - becomes the main shareholder of KVG Stade GmbH & Co. KG and KVC Celle as well as a shareholder in VLG Gifhorn.
