What you bring with you
- You have a Hauptschulabschluss or a Realschulabschluss.
- You can put your knowledge of chemistry, maths and physics into practice with us.
- You are keen to get to know the intricacies of the vehicles and impress us with your technical understanding and manual skills.
- It goes without saying that you always go about your work reliably, conscientiously and responsibly, right?
- You also show a high level of commitment, are willing to learn and look forward to working in a team.
Your training
- Repairing accident damage and restoring our buses to top condition
- Determination of the extent of damage, repair of damage (e.g. to aluminium, steel, carbon and glass)
- Paintwork on the bodywork
- Checking the technical functionality of the vehicles with modern computerised measuring equipment; troubleshooting, maintenance and adjustment work
- Working with modern bonding techniques on body parts and windows
- Planning and preparing work processes
- Control of work results

- After successfully completing your training as a motor vehicle mechatronics technician (m/f/d), you will have the opportunity to gain further qualifications:
- Further development as a master craftsman in car body and vehicle construction technology (m/f/d)
- Further training as a technician in body and vehicle construction technology (m/f/d)
- Study, e.g. Automotive Engineering (Bachelor of Engineering)

Questions and answers about training
As an automotive mechatronics technician specialising in commercial vehicle technology, you will maintain commercial vehicles of all kinds. In addition to buses, this also includes lorries, Unimogs and construction vehicles.
You recognise and rectify problems and damage to our vehicles using the latest testing and measuring methods. You make a diagnosis and find a solution to the problem. In addition to repairs, you will check the coolants and lubricants and replace them if necessary. You will carry out regular maintenance work to keep our vehicles in good condition.
You should have these interests and skills in addition to a secondary school leaving certificate or a good secondary school leaving certificate:
- You are skilful with your hands and interested in vehicle technology
- You have technical understanding
- You work accurately and carefully and have a sense of responsibility
- Handling safety-relevant components requires a sense of responsibility.
- You enjoy maths and physics
Good grades in maths and physics as well as manual skills will make your training easier.
The apprenticeship lasts 3.5 years.

If you have already completed an apprenticeship or are performing very well at vocational school and in the company, you can apply to shorten the training period.
Once you have successfully completed your apprenticeship, all doors are open to you. If you wish, you will have the opportunity to gain further qualifications.
German language skills at level B2 are an advantage. You need to understand what someone wants from you and be able to explain things to your colleagues.
