First electric buses: a big step towards the mobility of the future

We were delighted to present our first four electric buses in the district of Stade. We were able to present the new environmentally friendly vehicles at a press event together with representatives from politics, business and our company.

The presentation was attended by Michael Fastert and Jan Behrendt from our management team as well as District Administrator Kai Seefried and District Councillor Thorsten Heinze. Other guests included Kai-Ulrich Baak and Inken Montzka from the district of Stade, Ottmar Heinen and Dr Rainer Gärtner from eMIS and Karsten Leist from Verkehrsgesellschaft Nord-Ost-Niedersachsen mbH (VNO).

Clean mobility for all

With the new and eye-catching electric buses, we are not only focussing on environmentally friendly technology, but are also actively contributing to improving the quality of life in our region. The buses will be used throughout the district of Stade and are therefore a visible sign of the change in mobility. This is made possible by federal funding from the Federal Ministry for Digital and Transport's (BMDV) programme to promote alternative drive systems in passenger transport and with financial support from the district of Stade. The project is being subsidised as part of the Special Climate and Transformation Fund (KTF). Funding for this measure is also provided as part of the German Recovery and Resilience Plan (DARP) via the European Recovery and Resilience Facilities (ARF) in the NextGenerationEU programme. The funding guideline is coordinated by NOW GmbH and implemented by Project Management Jülich (PtJ).

The new electric buses: sustainable and innovative

The four new electric buses are from the IVECO brand and belong to the E-Way model. This model stands for the highest environmental standards and state-of-the-art electromobility.
